Aston Martin boss Lawrence Stroll says he would be tempted to snatch Lewis Hamilton, if he was to leave Mercedes after 2021.

Lewis Hamilton has extended his contract with Mercedes for only one year, leading to speculation on whether the Briton is likely to remain with Mercedes beyond 2021.

However there are others who would like to see the seven-time champion in their team if the opportunity presents itself. At least that’s what Aston Martin executive chairman Lawrence Stroll publicly stated to the Independent.

“It is definitely tempting,” Stroll said.

“Lewis in any car is great, and I am sure everyone would say yes because he is a seven-time world champion.

“But right now, I am extremely focused on getting started this year,” concluded the Canadian.

There’s no doubt Stroll is very ambitious when it comes to Aston Martin’s return to Formula 1 in 2021. For its maiden season the team signed four-time F1 champion Sebastian Vettel and he definitely didn’t come cheap.

What are your thoughts, do you think the prospect of driving for a legendary British brand such as Aston Martin would be appealing to Lewis?
