Toto Wolff is using the Austrian football team’s performance at the European Football Championship as inspiration in Mercedes’ title fight.

The Austrian football team lost 2:1 to Italy in the UEFA EURO 2020 Round of 16. However, while they were losing 2:0, they didn’t give up, and they ultimately managed to score one goal.

Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff explains how his team also lives by the ‘never give up’ motto in the 2021 Formula 1 championship fight.

”They didn’t give up when they were 2-0 down,” the Austrian told Servus TV.

“My conclusion is that we fight just as hard as the Austrian team did. A real fighter never gives up.

”It seems that our chances are not that great, and that we have everything against us. We have a weaker package and we have also already stopped developing our car.

“Now we really need to find every smallest millimetre where we can still get performance out of it, otherwise the world title is lost”, concluded Wolff.
