Toto Wolff says Mercedes is “currently in active legal exchange with the FIA” and awaits “full transparency about what took place and why, and have expressly reserved all legal rights”.

Yesterday the FIA announced they are dropping their investigation into Toto and Susie Wolff’s alleged conflict of interest.

The story has garnered much attention earlier this week, and it remains unclear what prompted the FIA to start the investigation in the first place.

Today, Toto Wolff issued his first direct statement regarding this controversial story.

“We understand that there is significant media interest in the events of this week,” Wolff wrote through Mercedes’ official channels.

“We are currently in active legal exchange with the FIA. We await full transparency about what took place and why, and have expressly reserved all legal rights.

“Therefore we ask for your understanding that we will not be commenting officially for now, but we will certainly address the matter in due course,” the Austrian concluded.
