Toto Wolff says it will be hard to determine the real 2021 pecking order after just three days of testing. Instead we will have to wait until the Bahrain Grand Prix Qualifying.

After today’s first pre-season test technical issues left Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas in P10 and P17 respectively. However, Toto Wolff says the short three-day test will not reveal the true pecking order of the 2021 season.

“I think we will see some kind of vague picture after the three days,” the Austrian said.

“Bahrain is representative, but these days are very gusty, the wind conditions change from one day to another.

“And of course, we don’t know the fuel loads, and there’s quite a difference in performance just missing it by 10kg.

“So vague picture, but on the first race weekend, in qualifying, we’re going to know.

“Once the flag drops, the bull***t stops,” concluded Mercedes’ team boss.
