Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff and Ferrari team boss Frederic Vasseur address rumours that Charles Leclerc has been in contact with Mercedes about a potential seat.

Last week, a well-known Italian F1 journalist Leo Turrini claimed that Charles Leclerc is talking to Mercedes about a potential seat.

The rumours was since dismissed by Charles himself, and now Toto Wolff has given his response.

“I haven’t had a single conversation with Charles,” Toto told German Sky.

“Except at the airport where we discussed whether we should go to Starbucks or not, so zero. I don’t know where the rumours come from. So not [true] at all.”

Wolff added Mercedes remains committed to their partnership with Lewis Hamilton.

“The point is, we have been with Lewis for ten years and that won’t change.

“Sometime in a few years, we’ll see,” the Austrian concluded.

Ferrari’s Fred Vasseur was also asked to comment on the rumour.

“Yes, the rumours about Charles and Mercedes are bulls**t,” Vasseur told Sky Italia.

“Charles said he loves Ferrari and wants to win with Ferrari. We are at the beginning of the season, where there is much gossip we will hear every weekend.

“But we are not worried,” the team boss concluded.
