Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff says it’s hard to see “your driver getting out of the car that is too stiff and undrivable, and we haven’t really found the solution”.

Mercedes has been battling porpoising and bouncing for most of the 2022 season, and it often created hard moments for their drivers.

The physical toll that it took on Lewis Hamilton and George Russell was very evident when Lewis could be clearly seen nursing his back after he got out of his car at the end of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

Toto Wolff was asked if it was hard for him to see his driver in such pain.

“Well, yeah, it’s hard to see him in pain,” the Austrian said.

“We looked at it from every aspect, we couldn’t find the difference.

“And you see your driver getting out of the car that is too stiff and undrivable, and we haven’t really found the solution.

“That was something that I didn’t think that we could end up in such a situation,” Wolff concluded.
