Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff says after the Brazilian Grand Prix controversies Lewis Hamilton is “brutal, and cold-blooded”.

After overcoming penalties and dubious decisions by the FIA at the Brazilian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton once again took a spectacular victory at the Qatar Grand Prix.

After the race Toto Wolff was full of praise.

“They have woken up the lion on the Saturday at Interlagos,” the Austrian said.

“He’s absolutely on it – brutal, and cold-blooded. This is the best in Lewis, and we’ve seen it in the past. He’s right there.

“I think when adversity happens, then it takes him to a place where he’s able to mobilise superhero powers. And it was the adversity that triggered that at Interlagos.”

With Hamilton now only eight points behind Max Verstappen in the drivers’ championship standings, Wolff is looking forward to the final two races of the season.

“We had such a strong Turkey, and then obviously fell back below expectations in Austin and in Mexico.

“But anyone in the team refuses to give up, and I’m grateful how the championship has swung.

“If you would have told me at the beginning of the year that we are right in the fight in Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, I would have taken it.

“So I hope it’s going to go all the way to the end. Whoever will win merits the win,” concluded Mercedes’ team boss.
