Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff says his team can’t “sit back and relax” as Lewis Hamilton‘s 37 point lead can still be overturned.
Although Hamilton seems to be well on his way to his seventh world title, Wolff warns Mercedes has to stay vigilant.
“There are still ten races to go,“ said the Austrian.
“This means that a driver can get a maximum of 250 points. We are 30 points ahead. That’s nothing!
“We always knew it wouldn’t be easy and we can’t sit back and relax”. We certainly haven’t taken any risks, but there’s no guarantee we’ll be in front on Sunday afternoon.
“Our speed was good, but we’ll have to try harder on Saturday to understand if we’re on the right track,” said Wolff.
