The W13 was one of the most troubled Mercedes F1 cars ever, but Toto Wolff says he hopes “the next years will do her justice”.

For the entirety of the 2022 season, Mercedes has been struggling with its car – the W13.

While there were some bright moments, like the fantastic 1-2 at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, most of the time the team struggled to understand the car.

However, Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff reveals the car could ultimately prove to be very important for the team.

“I think this car will always have a special place in our collection, very far back,” joked Wolff after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

“But I think that hopefully the next years will do her justice, because the learning curve with that car was enormous.

“Our fundamental understanding of aerodynamic vehicle dynamics, correlation, has really had a step change.

“And it will also not be forgotten as a car that dominated the Brazilian Grand Prix!” the Austrian concluded.
