After qualifying in P3 for the Qatar Grand Prix, Valtteri Bottas says him and Lewis Hamilton can do a good job on Sunday, as they have “two cars against Max”.

Valtteri Bottas dominated free practice sessions ahead of the Qatar Grand Prix, but in Quali he couldn’t do better than P3.

“It’s been a good weekend so far, until the qualifying for me,” the Finn said.

“I felt really comfortable and strong in the car, but I don’t know what’s happened overnight.

“I could feel in FP3 that the wind was different to yesterday. I was still fastest, but I had to push a lot, and so I knew that I really couldn’t find much more.

“And in quali, I struggled quite a bit, especially in turn one. I struggled to get the tyres ready, unlike yesterday evening. We need to have a look.

“Honestly, I tried my best but I’m a little bit confused about what happened with the car overnight.”

Considering that Max Verstappen is the lone Red Bull between two Mercedes, Bottas thinks the race could be good for the team.

“Personally, I don’t really have much to lose. I hope the grid is going to be good on the clean side for me and Lewis.

“Of course we have two cars against Max, I’m sure we can do something,” Valtteri concluded.
