Valtteri Bottas believes it’s only “a matter of time” before he wins again

After a successful start to the 2020 season with a win at the season-opening Austrian Grand Prix, Valtteri Bottas quickly fell behind Lewis Hamilton in the championship standings.

The Finn has only won one race in 2020 and now stands 55 points behind Hamilton. He has been very close to the Briton in qualifying, but wasn’t able to best him in most races.

“It hurts, especially when you miss pole with such a small difference,” said Bottas.

“But I also know the other side of the story, taking pole at a few hundredths of a second, so… Lewis and I are very close when it comes to speed.

“It’s just like everything clicks in a session like that, that’s what it’s all about. I try to achieve perfection, but every time Lewis is just the better one.

“As I said after the last race, it’s just a matter of time until everything clicks and I get those poles and victories again.

“I really believe in that, so I just keep doing what I’m doing and I’m trying to be better than I was a fortnight ago,” concluded the Finn.
