Valtteri Bottas looks ahead at the shortened F1 season that might provide him with an opportunity to achieve his dream of becoming the world champion.
Last year Bottas started his season with a dominant win at the Australian Grand Prix, so it would be understandable if the Finn was a bit disappointed that the Australian race had to be cancelled due to the coronavirus crisis. However, Bottas says he used the extra time to get even more prepared than he was in March.
“I was really ready for the start of the season in Australia, but it has all been postponed a bit,” explained the Finn in a Petronas Motorsports video.
“It’s been a number of months in which I’ve been able to follow the same process. I have made myself physically and mentally stronger. It has been a nice balance between free time and working on my dream.
“I feel I’m even more ready than I was in Melbourne.
“I’m also looking forward to the two races in Austria. It’s a track I can really enjoy. Normally I have also achieved good results there. It’s a nice place to start the season.”
