Valtteri Bottas says he used the winter break to reflect on how he can improve himself to be at his “physical and mental best” once the 2021 season gets underway.
During Mercedes’ 2021 car launch Valtteri Bottas talked about his preparation for the 2021 season.
“The main thing over the winter and over the break has been self-honesty – trying to work out how I can be better,” the Finn said.
“Knowing that when I’m on the grid in Bahrain [the first race of the 2021 season] that I’ve done everything I can to be at my physical and mental best… Knowing I gave everything.”

At the event Bottas was asked if he was thinking his future with Mercedes beyond 2021, but the Finn revealed this is not what he is focusing on.
“It’s now my fifth year with the team, I have full focus on my own targets.”
In Mercedes’ press materials, Bottas gave his comments on the new car.
“The cars are pretty similar to last year but there are some interesting aero changes that will have an impact on how the car handles and performs.
“So I’m looking forward to seeing how it feels on track in Bahrain,” concluded the Finn.
