Mercedes announced Belgian driver Stoffel Vandoorne and Mexican driver Esteban Gutierrez as the team’s 2020 reserve drivers.
Former Formula 2 champion Stoffel Vandoorne drove for McLaren during the 2017 and 2018 seasons and currently competes in Formula E for Mercedes-Benz EQ Formula E Team. You can read his full bio here.
Esteban Gutierrez already has experience with Mercedes, as he was the team’s simulator and development driver for 2019. In 2020 he will share reserve driver duties with Vandoorne, while continuing his work as development driver. You can read his full bio here.
