When asked if he prefers a close title battle like in 2021, or his current dominance, Max Verstappen said he’s having “a lot more fun now”.

In 2021, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton were engaged in a fierce title battle that saw them enter the final race of the season with the same number of points.

This all changed in 2022, when new F1 regulations kicked in and Red Bull started completely dominating races.

In 2023 the domination got even stronger, and the Austrian team has now won every race so far. This caused many to say F1 should do something to prevent a single team from dominating for years.

Max Verstappen, on the other hand, has nothing against this type of domination. The Dutch driver was asked if he would prefer another battle like in 2021, or the situation he has currently, and he said he prefers the way things are now.

“I have a lot more fun now,” the Dutch driver said.

“This is what I like to do. I like to win, I like to dominate, I like to work with the people I’m working with.

“It’s very enjoyable. And I always want more. And people think it gets boring for me when I’m leading, but absolutely not.

“That’s what I wanted to do from a very young age and I always wanted to be there,” Verstappen concluded.
