When Verstappen was recently asked about his rivalry with Hamilton, he said it is not something he “needs”.

“I don’t need that kind of rivalry,” the Dutch driver told The Times.

“Of course we want to beat each other, but honestly, once we’re in a private setting it’s like just normal guys,” he concluded.
