Lewis Hamilton says “Sebastian Vettel was one of those who supported me the most”, and reveals the German told him “that some teams spoke racist things about me”.

Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel have been great friends for a long time, especially in the last years of Vettel’s career.

Sebastian was one of the first drivers to support Lewis in his fight against racism and his pursuit of racial justice, as well as other causes.

In a talk with DAZN, Lewis says Vettel even revealed to him that there were racist comments made about him in certain teams.

“We have to get people to empathise against racism,” Hamilton said.

“We need empathy. Sometimes I wonder if anyone else cares. Sebastian Vettel was one of those who supported me the most.

“He told me that some teams spoke racist things about me. He took the knee with me in 2020.

“I have not yet seen a driver as brave as him. We have to change the laws so that people live better.

“We are risking our lives to try to educate others,” Hamilton added.
