While talking about the possibility of Audi poaching some of Mercedes’ employees, Toto Wolff took a dig at Red Bull for publicly touting their acquisitions.

Audi will enter Formula 1 in 2026 as an engine manufacturer, and are expected to partner up with Sauber (currently Alfa Romeo).

Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff says he expects Audi will lure some of Mercedes’ employees to work for them.

“We haven’t lost anybody to Audi,” the Austrian said.

“But there will be situations where some of the Mercedes or ex-Mercedes people will go to Audi, there is no doubt about that.

“This is an open market and between the teams, we have these movements.”

Wolff then took the opportunity to take a dig at Red Bull who have issued several press releases when ex-Mercedes people joined their new Red Bull Powertrains engine factory.

“We also have this movement from other PU manufacturers to us, although we don’t issue a press release every time this happens.

“It is completely normal,” Wolff concluded.
