Toto Wolff says Lewis Hamilton can “absolutely” get his eighth F1 title, and he’ll “do everything that’s needed” for Lewis to get it, even if he has to “push him around the track”.
After Mercedes didn’t impress at the first qualifying session of the 2023 season in Bahrain, Sky Sports asked team boss Toto Wolff if he think Lewis Hamilton can still win his eighth Formula 1 title.
“Absolutely,” the Austrian said.
“Even if I need to push him around the track to get the eighth, I’m going to do everything that’s needed.”
Wolff was also asked what is going on in Lewis’ head right now, considering how the W14 doesn’t appear to be the step forward that everyone expected.

“We are super-critical of ourselves and what we need to achieve. There is no such thing as a holy car.
“We are looking at everything: did we get it right with the concept? Should we have reacted earlier? Everyone in the engineering team thinks like that.
“We just need to get our act together and we’re going to get his eighth. He has, when I compare him to Alonso, another four years in him as a minimum.
“So we just need to get it done,” Wolff concluded.
