With many people still calling for Lewis Hamilton to be knighted after his remarkable achievements in 2020, including reaching his 7th world championship, some people have suggested that he might take his foot off the throttle for the last three races.

However, in Free Practice 1 and 2 there were no signs of Lewis slowing down, as he topped both sessions. Always seeking perfection, he said that he was not happy with the balance of his car. Earlier today Verstappen topped the time sheets in Free Practice 3, but right from the beginning of Qualifying it was obvious that nothing was going to hold Lewis back.

He topped Q1, then went one better in Q2, not only topping the time sheets, but breaking the track record on his medium tyres. In Q3 it was clear that Lewis was unstoppable. He dominated it completely, then posted an even faster time of 1m 27.264, with Bottas over two tenths behind and Verstappen in third place.

This was his 98th pole position and, with 2 more races to go after this one, he could reach 100 pole positions before the season is over.

Lewis may be one of the oldest drivers on the grid, but he is like a fine wine, he improves with age and right now appears untouchable. His energy seems limitless, but with Bottas and Verstappen both hungry for a win, will he prevail tomorrow?
