Sir Lewis Hamilton was born on 7th January 1985, which means today he is 36 years old. However, judging by his performances this year, and his 11 wins and 10 pole positions, which is far ahead of anyone else on the grid, he is not letting that bother him.
Some people when they reach their mid thirties find their reflexes are not as quick, which can impair their judgement whilst racing. Also it’s more difficult to keep oneself fit,and stay at a healthy weight. Luckily for Lewis, like a fine wine, he seems to improve with age.
His ability to be so consistent and not make mistakes means he is extremely likely to finish a race, barring any mechanical problems. This was very important in 2020, because of a shortened calendar of just 17 races.
Even the unwelcome presence of COVID-19 had no impact on his championship hopes, as he had already claimed his seventh drivers title in Turkey, with an extraordinary win from sixth place on a slippery and dangerous grid, whilst everyone around him was floundering. He then cemented this by winning in Bahrain before sitting out a race due to COVID-19.

Sir Lewis is currently enjoying a break from Formula One and has posted various pictures of himself out walking and exercising on his social media channels, as he wants to get himself back to the strong physical shape he was in before COVID struck.
This birthday may not be like the one last year, as with COVID rules interaction with friends and family is not possible. However, I know I speak for millions of fans the world over in wishing our British champion a very happy 36th birthday. We are all with you in spirit Sir Lewis, you are not alone. Enjoy your special day. Many happy returns!
