In the final laps of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, while driving behind a Safety Car, Lewis Hamilton voiced his concerns that the outcome of the race “is getting manipualted”.
In the final moments of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, FIA race director Michael Masi chose not to follow FIA’s rules and protocols and created a situation that allowed Max Verstappen to overtake Lewis Hamilton in the final lap on much fresher tyres, after the Safety Car period.
While on the final lap, Lewis said the situation has been artificially engineered, and voiced his concern to his race engineer Peter Bonnington.
Lewis told Bono: “This is getting manipulated, man!”
