Toto Wolff responds to the fact that Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes will not be able to win Lewis’ eighth title together and ‘avenge’ Abu Dhabi 2021.
At the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton unjustly lost the title race to Max Verstappen, after a shocking intervention from the race director.
Because Lewis is leaving Mercedes at the end of 2024, this driver-team combination will not be able to win Lewis’ eighth title together, and in a way ‘avenge’ the wrongdoing that happened in Abu Dhabi.
Ahead of the Italian Grand Prix, Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff was asked about this fact.
“You have to look at it from a point more detached than we do,” Wolff told BBC Sport.

“There is more drama in the world out there,” the Austrian concluded.
