Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff says in Lewis Hamilton’s contract negotiations, only “small details” are being discussed, and he reveals what they are.
Lewis Hamilton’s current contract with Mercedes will expire at the end of 2023, and he is yet to a sign a new deal.
While both himself and Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff already stated that the new deal is just a formality, many observers are wondering what’s taking so long.
Former F1 driver David Coulthard recently said he believes the ‘holdup’ has to do with Lewis’ sponsorship commitments, and British the Sun newspaper reported basically the same thing.
Ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix, Wolff revealed this is exactly what is being talked about.
“We’re only talking about small details such as marketing schedules and so on,” the Austrian told Sky Italia.

“I’m not worried at all,” he concluded.
In a talk with Sky Italia, Lewis confirmed that there are absolutely no tensions between him and Mercedes.
“Toto is a great boss and Mercedes have supported me for such a long time,” the Briton said.
“I don’t feel that there is any tension between us. We trust each other.
“We have the same goals and we know that we can achieve them together,” Hamilton concluded.
