Former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher, known for often criticising Lewis Hamilton, has said the Briton can “deliver his performance flawlessly”.

Although Ralf Schumacher has often criticised Lewis Hamilton and never seemed to be particularly fond of him, after Lewis’ 100th race win at the Russian Grand Prix, he used his Sky Germany column to praise the seven-time champion.

“Lewis is currently the most complete racing driver on the grid,” Schumacher wrote.

“He has a lot of experience and works closely with the team. Whenever it matters in qualifying or in the race, he can deliver his performance flawlessly.”

As for how many wins Lewis can add to his record, Ralf says it will depend on how Mercedes will adapt to new 2022 rules.

“He has two years left on his contract with Mercedes after this season. How many wins he can get during that time also depends on how strong the car is next year.

“The superiority is there, but not as it used to be. Accordingly, it is also noticeable that Mercedes makes mistakes now and then.

“Be it strategically or Hamilton himself not coming into the pits in Hungary, or not realising now in Sochi qualifying that he has to change tyres.

“These mistakes contribute to keeping the World Championship battle exciting,” concluded Schumacher.
