Royal officials confirmed Lewis Hamilton will receive his knighthood for services to motorsports this Wednesday at Windsor Castle.

Lewis Hamilton’s knighthood has been announced last December in the Queen’s New Year Honours and now he will formally receive it this Wednesday.

This will make Lewis only the fourth F1 driver to be knighted, along with Sir Jackie Stewart, Sir Stirling Moss and Sir Jack Brabham. It has to be noted that Lewis is the only one to be knighted while still active if Formula 1.

On Wednesday Lewis will be knighted along with Poirot actor David Suchet and Deutsche Oper Berlin general music director Donald Runnicles.
