Mercedes’ Motorsport Strategy Director James Vowles will race in next month’s Asian Le Mans Series, behind the wheel of a McLaren 720S GT3.
James Vowles will drive car #59 for British racing team Garage 59. The two-round, four-race championship will take place in February in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
James’ partners will be last year’s LMP3 champion Manuel Maldonado and Danish racer Nicolai Kjaergaard.

“I’m really happy with the driver line-ups we’ve secured for Asian Le Mans,” Garage 59 team principal Andrew Kirkaldy said.
“We’re all looking forward to getting started with the McLaren 720S and hopefully getting our first win of the season.
“For sure it will also be handy to have one of F1’s best strategists in the team,” Kirkaldy concluded.
