Lewis Hamilton say he was thinking about his future following the ending of the 2021 season, but he does so at the end of every year.
Lewis Hamilton’s future was the focus of interest of the entire Formula 1 media, following the controversial ending of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
At Mercedes’ 2022 car launch Lewis Hamilton was asked whether he was considering his future in Formula 1 during the winter break.
“Naturally, I think at the end of any season, probably for those that are around my age, of course you’re thinking about the future,” Lewis said.
“You’re thinking about, what are the next steps? What are the right steps for you to take, and what’s right for you in terms of overall happiness? So I always evaluate all my options.”

However, the Briton quickly explained that there is no reason for him to consider retirement at this moment.
“I did make a commitment to the team earlier on in the season. And ultimately, I love what I do.
“I love being a part of a team. I love working with – and I’ve said it so many times – everyone towards a common goal. And I feel at my best, so why do I need to leave?
“Of course, dealing with… There are so many different ways you can refocus and get re-centred, and I would say this one was one of the best that I’ve experienced,” Hamilton concluded.
