Lewis Hamilton says Sebastian Vettel is “one of the only drivers that stands for something”, and adds “in 20 years time, 30 years, we’ll still be friends”.
Sebastian Vettel has retired from Formula 1 at the end of 2022. It’s well known that in recent years Seb and Lewis have became great friends, and even share common interests – such as using their platform to bring about positive change in the world.
They are two of the most vocal drivers when it comes to fighting for equality and human rights.
While talking about Seb in a recent interview, Lewis said he will miss the German driver, and his influence in the paddock.

“He’s one of the only drivers that stands for something,” the Briton said.
“I mean, really, what other driver here has really truly stood for something other than themselves? And that’s something to be really admired in a human being.
“He will be missed on the track, but he’s probably one of the few drivers that, in 20 years time, 30 years, we’ll still be friends,” Hamilton concluded.
