The Mercedes-AMG ONE, a hybrid hypercar that was built with input from Lewis Hamilton, has set a new record for a production car at the Nordschleife.
The Mercedes-AMG ONE uses Formula 1 technology and its power unit was produced at Mercedes’ F1 engine factory in Brixworth – the Mercedes High-Performance Powertrains.
The car’s 1.6 litre V6 power unit was used in Mercedes’ 2015 F1 car – the W06, and produces 566bhp. It also uses the MGU-H and MGU-K technology, used in modern F1 cars. When put in ‘Strat 2’ mode, the car provides a combined output of 1,049bhp.
The car is also famous for being built with input from seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton.
Recently, Mercedes took the car to the Nordschleife, and it has set a new record for a production car. The car has set a time of 06:35.183s around the 12.9 mile circuit.
