Formula 1 has caught some serious flak on social media after it was revealed that a mug with Toto Wolff’s ‘No Michael No’ quote is being sold at the first ever F1 Exhibition in Madrid.
Today, Formula 1 has announced the opening of the world’s first Formula 1 Exhibition in Madrid, an event which has been officially developed in association with F1.
The official description of the event says “the exhibition promises an immersive show with a host of artefacts and contributions from legendary teams, experts and personalities”.
The event is not without controversy as an image emerged on Twitter showing one of the items being sold at the exhibition. The item in question is a mug with the words “No Michael No” printed on it.
The words are a quote from Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff’s radio message to race director (at the time) Michael Masi after the controversial 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Wolff uttered those words after Masi changed the rules that govern the use of the Safety Car, which directly cost Lewis Hamilton his almost certain eighth championship title win.
What makes the fact that an official F1 event is selling such an item almost unbelievable, is the fact that Masi’s decisions in Abu Dhabi cause quite a controversy, and after an investigation even the FIA admitted that he had made a “human error”.
Furthermore, even before the investigation was done, the FIA removed Masi from his role as race director.
The image caused quite a stir on social media, as many are questioning F1’s judgement for letting such an item be sold at an official event.
You can take a look at the item in question below.
