Toto Wolff says the upgrades being introduced at Monaco “won’t be a silver bullet” and he warns Mercedes needs “to be careful not to draw too many conclusions from this one event”.

This weekend Mercedes will finally reveal its big upgrade package for the W14. The upgrade will include a revised front suspension, bodywork and floor.

Ahead of the race weekend, Toto warns the team’s performance at the unique Monaco street circuit should not be taken as a final verdict on the upgrades.

“We need to be careful not to draw too many conclusions from this one event,” Wolff said.

“We hope that it gives the drivers a more stable and predictable platform. Then we can build on that in the weeks and months ahead.

“F1 is tough competition and a meritocracy. We are not where we want to be but there’s no sense of entitlement.

“It’s just about hard work to get us to the front,” the Austrian concluded.
