After the Spanish Grand Prix, Mercedes has been summoned to the stewards for an alleged rules breach involving Lewis Hamilton and George Russell’s physios.

After a great result at the Spanish Grand Prix, Mercedes representatives and Lewis Hamilton and George Russell’s physiotherapists have been summoned to the stewards for an alleged rules breach involving Article 12.2.1 i) of the International Sporting Code and non-compliance with the Media Delegate’s post race procedures.

Ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix, the FIA sent notes to the teams in which it said that: “Other than the team mechanics (with cooling fans if necessary), officials and FIA pre-approved television crews and FIA approved photographers, no one else will be allowed in the designated area once the cars are in the Parc Ferme area (no team PR personnel)”.

It also added: “Driver physios must wait outside the cool down room behind the podium until the podium ceremony has concluded following the instructions given to all teams by the Media Delegate.”

It could be that Hamilton and Russell’s physios entered the parc ferme area during the post-race moments, which is in breach with the aforementioned guideline.

If found guilty, they will most likely receive a monetary fine.

UPDATE: The stewards ultimately decided to fine Mercedes €10,000 for this breach.
