Hamilton: “I would have been close to the podium with the pace I had”

Lewis Hamilton says he “should have easily been top five” in the Austrian Grand Prix Sprint Shootout,  and “in the race I would have been close to the podium with the pace I had”.

After the Austrian Grand Prix Sprint Race, Lewis Hamilton said he should have been in the top five in the Austrian Grand Prix Sprint Shootout, and added he believes he would have had a chance to finish of the podium in the Sprint Race.

“I was relatively quick this morning,” the Briton told Sky Sports F1.

“I should have easily been top five and in the race I would have been close to the podium with the pace I had.

“I just enjoyed myself in the race, lost few points but it’s not the most important day today.”

Asked what he can do in the main race on Sunday, Lewis said:

“I’m around the Ferraris and Red Bull which is in its own league.

“If I can hold onto the Ferraris that would be great,” Hamilton concluded.
