Red Bull team boss Christian Horner says his team did not complain about Toto and Susie Wolff’s potential conflict of interest and expresses support for Susie’s work as F1 Academy boss.
A recent report from BusinessF1 magazine has suggested that Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff and his wife, F1 Academy Managing Director Susie Wolff are allegedly disclosing confidential information to each other.
The FIA then announced they have opened an investigation into the matter, but refrained from naming any names.
Soon after the investigation was announced, Susie Wolff came out with a statement in which she said she was “deeply insulted” by the allegations, and added they were “rooted in intimidatory and misogynistic behaviour”.
It was stated in the BusinessF1 report that the issue was originally raised by certain team principals, who pointed to a possible conflict of interest.
F1 fans, especially Mercedes fans, have since speculated that the team that complained was Mercedes’ fierce rival Red Bull, but now team boss Christian Horner says that is not the case.

“We have a big rivalry [with Mercedes] on track but we haven’t raised any official complaint either about Susie or Toto or Mercedes to the FIA,” Horner said.
“In fact, Red Bull has been the team that has got most involved with F1 Academy since its inception, to the point that between the two Red Bull-owned teams, we’ll be entering three cars in 2024.
“So we’ve been working closely with Susie, who’s been doing a great job on F1 Academy.
“So I think we, like others, were quite surprised by the statement that came out last night, but it certainly wasn’t instigated or required or set off by Red Bull.
“We’ve not raised any official complaint or made any requests to the FIA or to FOM. As far as the other teams, I can’t talk on behalf of others.
“This is an FIA thing, they’ve taken this action, but as I say, certainly nothing to do with Red Bull,” the Briton concluded.
