Sky Sports’ Craig Slater and Bernie Collins provide more insights into how Adrian Newey’s depature would impact Red Bull, and what they learned about his next destination.

Yesterday credible reports came out saying that Red Bull’s Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey has informed the team that he intends to leave.

While Red Bull has issued a statement saying they are not aware of Newey’s intention to leave, outlets like BBC and Autosport still stand by their original reports.

In his analysis of Newey’s potential exit, Sky Sports’ Bernie Collins discussed the impact the move would have on Red Bull.

“There are a lot of other designers working in the background, but this team is built around Adrian,” Collins said.

“He’s grown the team, he’s built the structure, and the bigger power struggle is worrying as well.

“This would mean that Adrian will not be there for the change in regulations for 2026 and that will have massive repercussions for the performance of this car.

“Red Bull has been standout strongest for aerodynamics the last few years, and even previous to that when they weren’t winning,” he concluded.

It also has to be noted that Max Verstappen has said he wants the main players to remain within the team, and without Newey his future might also be in question.

Additionally, Sky Sports’ Craig Slater reported on what he learned on Newey’s possible next destination.

“One or two other significant figures have explained to me that they do believe that Newey’s wish would be, if he is to work for another F1 team, that would be with Ferrari,” Slater said.
