McLaren CEO Zak Brown says thinking about Max Verstappen in a Mercedes makes him “pretty uncomfortable” and adds “it would be a disaster for Red Bull”.
With rumours swirling around that Max Verstappen could be on his way to Mercedes in 2026, McLaren CEO Zak Brown gave his thoughts on the situation during his appearance on The Sports Agents.
“Mercedes is a team on the rise,” Brown said.
“Red Bull at the moment, has challenges; it doesn’t mean that they can’t fix those challenges.

“But Max in a Mercedes is pretty uncomfortable to think about, because he’s awesome. I’d rather him stay where he is.
“I think it would be a disaster for Red Bull if they lost Max,” the American concluded.
The rumours only intensified after Red Bull removed their long-time team boss Christian Horner, so now it remains to be seen what Max’s next move will be.
