Lando Norris responds to being booed by the crowd after winning the Mexican Grand Prix and regaining the lead in the 2025 championship.

Lanno Norris won the Mexican Grand Prix, and with his team-mate Oscar Piastri finishing in P5, the Briton now leads the 2025 championship standings again.

However, while Lando was giving his post-race interview, loud boos from the Mexican crowd could be heard.

Norris proceeded to tell the interviewer James Hinchcliffe that he was going to “ignore all of this”.

He was again booed when he appeared on the podium, and later in the press conference he gave his response.

“People can do what they want, honestly,” the Briton said.

“They have the right to do it if they want to do it. I think that’s sport sometimes. I don’t know why I can’t stop laughing when I get booed.

“I think it makes it more entertaining for me. So yeah, they can keep doing it if they want.

“Of course, you don’t want it. I prefer to have people cheer for me. It was the same in Monza and a few other places.

“I don’t know why, I just can’t stop laughing, so if they want to continue they can.”

When one of the journalists suggested that the boos might have been a result of the perception that he was being favoured over his team-mate, after McLaren’s infamously decided to swap cars in Monza, following a slow pit stop, Norris said:

“If they want to think that, then they certainly have the right to. They can think whatever they want.

“I guess from us as a team, of course, we try and do things fairly,” Norris concluded.
