Unfortunately, Mercedes was forced to make a complete power unit change on the second day of testing in Bahrain.
On the second day of the first pre-season test in Bahrain, Mercedes discovered an issue with their power unit, and after an investigation decided to complete a full change.
Unfortunately, this forced Kimi Antonelli to sit out most of the morning session, after being on the track for only three laps.

In the afternoon session, after six hours of work, the W17 returned to the track with George Russell behind the wheel.
On the first day of testing, Mercedes had an issue with their suspension, but was able to complete 85 laps.
