After winning his fist ever F1 race – the Chinese Grand Prix – Kimi Antonelli says George Russell is “an incredible driver, very strong on all aspects, so it’s going to take a lot to beat him”.
Kimi Antonelli finished off the Chinese Grand Prix weekend with his first ever Formula 1 race win!
After his triumphant victory, the young Italian quickly began tearing up.
“I’m speechless,” Antonelli said.
“I’m about to cry to be honest. Thank you so much to my team. They helped me to achieve this dream.”
With that, he started to cry. After regaining his composure, he delivered a message to his Italian countrymen.

“Even though I gave myself a little bit of a heart attack towards the end with a bit of a flat spot, but it was a good race.”
Asked if he thinks he can beat his team-mate George Russell over the course of the season, Kimi said:
“We are just at the beginning, we keep pushing. George is an incredible driver, very strong on all aspects, so it’s going to take a lot to beat him.
“But it’s a great opportunity to be working with him as well because I have been learning a lot from him. Looking forward to the rest of the season now.
“I always focus race by race, so we’ll see where we end up at the end of the year,” the Italian concluded.
