After finishing the Chinese Grand Prix in P2, George Russell says he is “pleased to be standing on the podium” with Kimi Antonelli and Lewis Hamilton.
After winning the Chinese Grand Prix Sprint Race, George Russell faced difficulties with his car in qualifying, but still managed to put it in P2, behind team-mate Kimi Antonelli.
He finished the main race in the same position, but only after battling Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc.
After the race, the Briton said he was very happy to be on the podium with Kimi, and his former team-mate Lewis.
“Huge congratulations to Kimi because it’s always very special to win your first race,” Russell said.

“And he’s been driving really amazing this year and this weekend especially.
“I’m pleased to be standing on the podium with him, and also with this guy [Hamilton] as well.
“It was a tough battle. We both had really bad starts again and the Ferraris shot past.
“But, at the end of the day, getting a one-two again is all we could ask for,” he concluded.
