Recently Lewis Hamilton and his long-time right-hand man Marc Hynes decided to go their separate ways. Now, Lewis explains why.

We recently reported a rumour that Lewis Hamilton’s long-time manager and friend, former British Formula 3 champion, Marc Hynes left the seven-time champion’s management company ‘Project 44’, an organization that he helped establish and run.

The rumour has since been confirmed, and now Hamilton says Hynes’ departure was amicable.

“Marc is one of my best friends, and remains one of my best friends,” Lewis said.

“He’s moving on to do some other great things. We’ve had an amazing partnership together and I’m really, really grateful and proud of the work that I think we achieved together.

“I am doing some small restructuring now moving forwards and ultimately there are plans that we’re working on for the future.

“And so there will be someone for this, potentially for the short term, and I’ll figure it out as I go along,” concluded Hamilton.

Hynes was also expected to run Hamilton’s Extreme E team – X44, but this will obviously not be the case now.
