Lewis Hamilton says he “hardly ever” drives on the simulator anymore and finds track walks to be “a pointless exercise”.
After claiming his 100th pole position at the Spanish Grand Prix Qualifying, Lewis Hamilton was asked what role the simulator had in him reaching this amazing milestone.
“I hardly ever drive on the simulator,” Hamilton told Sky Sports F1.
“I maybe do 20 laps a year, maybe. I have no interest in the simulator.”

The Briton went a step further and said he doesn’t do track walks either. The track walk is usually done on Thursday ahead of a Grand Prix weekend, and involves a driver walking the track with his engineers.
“I used to walk the track when I was younger,” Hamilton continued.
“But what I’ve discovered is that for me, it was a pointless exercise. It’s a lot different when you approach it at high speed.
“So what I found was that it was just wasting energy; my weekend’s all about keeping energy and maintaining it so I can do the job,” concluded the seven-time champion.
