After the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, Mercedes is now second in the 2025 Constructors’ Championship. George Russell and Toto Wolff give their thoughts.
With an amazing result at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, Mercedes has overtaken Red Bull for second in the 2025 Constructors’ Championship.
However, team boss Toto Wolff has warned the team must not become complacent.
“You can see how quickly it goes,” the Austrian said.
“You have a weekend where you have a double DNF like [Ferrari] had and the other teams scoring strong enough points.
“The 30-point swing, you can have it in the other direction too in any of the three races.

“So, we just need to keep both feet on the ground, hopefully consolidate the gap and just take it day by day, weekend by weekend,” he concluded.
George Russell added that anything except being runner-up in the championship would be a disappointment for the team.
“The minimum goal is to finish P2 in the championship,” the Briton said.
“We could not have wished for much better [in Brazil] in that regard, especially considering the pace we had,” he concluded.
