Red Bull team boss Christian Horner received an official warning from the FIA for his pre Qatar Grand Prix comments. Toto Wolff jokes his competitor has been “naughty”.

After the Qatar Grand Prix Christian Horner was summoned to the stewards because, prior to the race, he said a “rogue marshal” was responsible for Max Verstappen’s five-place grid penalty, that he received for ignoring double-waved yellow flags.

He also described the yellow flags situation as a “balls-up” and said the FIA should have “control” over its volunteers.

For this Horner received an official warning from the FIA, after the offered to “to apologise to the marshal concerned and to explain to the media that he meant no offence” and “to participate in the 2022 FIA International Stewards Programme in early February”.

Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff was asked to give his comments on the situation.

“I think that there is a lot at stake and you always need to…,” started the Austrian.

“’In a way I don’t even want to comment on him because we are all responsible for what we say and what we do. [We all] have our own pressures and that is certainly very high.

“I haven’t even heard or read what he said, only that he was naughty,” concluded Wolff with a grin.
