Lewis Hamilton has not made any public statements since the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and he even unfollowed everybody on Instagram. His brother Nicolas provides an update.
After the controversial events of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and the subsequent track interviews, Lewis Hamilton didn’t make any further statements to the media.
He has only made two public appearances since then, one at Windsor Castle to receive his knighthood, and the other at Mercedes’ HQ in Brackley, to celebrate the team’s record-breaking eighth Constructors’ Championship and to say goodbye to Valtteri Bottas.
While he did give a speech to Mercedes F1 team members in Brackley, he made no public statements at either event. He also missed the FIA Prize-Giving Gala where Max Verstappen was crowned as the 2021 F1 world champion.
His social media accounts have also remained silent, his last posts were made after the Abu Dhabi GP Qualifying. He even unfollowed everybody on his Instagram account, a move that has raised some concern with his fans.

Even his brother Nicolas, the day after the unfortunate events of Abu Dhabi, said Lewis was not responding to him, and he decided to give him some alone time.
Well, now during his Twitch stream Nicolas was asked by one of his followers how Lewis was, considering “he unfollowed everyone on Insta”?
Nicolas then squelched some of the fans’ concerns.
“Yeah, Lewis is fine,” Lewis’ brother said.
“He’s just having a bit of a social media break which I don’t blame him for. Social media can be a very toxic place. But, yeah, he’s cool there. He’s fine. Yeah, he’s alright.
“He’s currently on… he’s watching the kids ski at the moment,” Nicolas concluded.
