During the Qatar Grand Prix Toto Wolff came on Valtteri Bottas’ team radio and told him: “Come on Valtteri, get these cars”.

After a poor start at the Qatar Grand Prix, Valtteri Bottas dropped down the grid and got stuck behind midfield cars for a few laps.

At that point Toto Wolff came on his radio and encouraged him to start passing the cars in front of him.

“Come on Valtteri, get these cars,” the Austrian said.

Bottas says it might not have been perfect timing, but he did start moving forward after that.

“It’s normal. He’s living in the moment,” the Finn said.

“It’s while I was trying to make a move. It was surprising then when I get the [these messages]… Maybe the timing was not right, but no problem.”

Bottas managed to fight through the field and get to P3, but then his car suffered a tyre puncture.

“There was no warning, no vibration, the pace was feeling consistent, the grip was okay,” Valtteri explained.

“I didn’t run any wider in the kerbs. It just happened. Initially I thought the wind was getting stronger on the main straight but it felt like the car was stable.

“Then it punctured in the first corner, at the most unlucky point as well just after the pit exit,” concluded the Finn.
