George Russell returned to on-track action today at Paul Ricard, for Pirelli’s 2023 tyre test. Lewis Hamilton is scheduled to return to the track on Thursday.
Mercedes kicked off 2023 on-track action at Paul Ricard today, when George Russell took to the track to test Pirelli’s 2023 tyre compounds.
The testing is being done with Mercdedes’ 2023 car – the W13, with Lewis Hamilton scheduled to take over from Russell on Thursday.
It was revealed back in November that Pirelli and the FIA have agreed on additional tyre testing ahead of the the start of official 2023 pre-season tesing, which is scheduled to start on February 23.
After Mercedes is done with their tyre test, AlphaTauri will take over on February 3 and 4. The German team will then test again at Jerez on February 3 and 4.
Below are some of Mercedes’ photos from the first day of testing.
