Red Bull team boss Christian Horner says it was “probably good” that George Russell “left his crash helmet on” while talking to Max Verstappen.

On lap 1 of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix Sprint Race, George Russell and Max Verstappen were involved in a battle for P3, which led to a collision that damaged Max’s sidepod.

After the race, Max confronted George in parc ferme, but the Briton wasn’t interested in a discussion. This caused Verstappen to call him a “d**khead”.

Afterwards Red Bull team boss Christian Horner insinuated things could have gotten physical.

“[Max] was understandably annoyed with that, and voiced his opinion to George,” Horner said.

“It was probably good that he [George] left his crash helmet on.

“You can understand that. He is a competitive driver, and when you get damage to your car, you will be disappointed.”

Horner then gave his view of the incident.

“”Turn 1, I can live with… Turn 2 is hard racing between hard racers. [At Turn 3] George runs him out wide.”
