The all-female W Series went into administration last week, and Sky Sports’ Ted Kravitz says Lewis Hamilton was “the only driver who bothered to come down to the W Series paddock”.
The all-female racing series – called the W Series – was started in 2019, with an aim of promoting female racing drivers, and helping them make their way into higher levels of motorsport.
However, due to financial issues, the series went into administration last week.
While talking about this, Sky Sports F1’s Ted Kravitz said Lewis Hamilton is the only driver on the current F1 grid who has shown interest in the series.

“Lewis was to my certain knowledge the only driver who bothered to come down to the W Series paddock,” Kravitz said on the Sky Sports F1 podcast.
“He went down. He did. I asked him on Friday what he felt still needed to be done and he was looking at companies coming in. I don’t think W Series fell short by tens of millions of pounds.
“In the grand scheme of F1 sponsorships and the amount of money going around, it wouldn’t have been much for one of the sponsors to throw it a lifeline,” the Briton concluded.
